A fire pit does not have to be elaborate to change how much a garden gets used.

This is a wood burning build, squared off to suit the slab it sits on. Construction contains and isolates the fire so heat is not transferred into the surface underneath, which is the safety detail most kit builds skip.

Holding the slope

The block wall behind it is a dry stack retaining wall, interlocking course by course with soil and rock backfilled behind for strength. Below four feet it suits garden terracing like this; above four feet it needs engineering for load and water, which is a code requirement here.

Wood or gas

Wood burning gives you the campfire. Gas lights instantly and can be finished with lava rock or coloured glass. We build both.
