Paver patio with a built-in fire pit

The build most people picture when they call us, and the one that gets used the most once it is finished.

A patio and a fire pit built at the same time will always sit better together than a fire pit added later. The stone comes from the same batch, so colour and ageing match, and the pit can be set into the layout properly rather than dropped onto a finished surface.

Base first

The whole area is graded and compacted before any paver is laid, and pitched so water runs away from the house. This is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether a patio is still level in ten years.

Seat walls and columns

A low seat wall closes the space in without boxing it off, adds seating that never has to be carried out, and keeps water from sheeting across the pavers. Columns give the edge some height and can carry lighting.
