Outdoor kitchen under a pavilion

When a patio is going to be cooked on, the stonework has to be planned around the appliances rather than the other way round.

An outdoor kitchen is a masonry structure with services running through it, so the base, the counter height and the openings for the grill and doors are all set before the facing stone goes on.

Facing and counters

Mortared natural stone gives a face that cannot be replicated and ages well outdoors. Counters are cut to overhang enough to work at comfortably without catching.

Sitting under cover

Running the kitchen under a pavilion extends the season considerably, and lets us take lighting and power through the structure rather than trenching them across the garden.
