An entrance takes more traffic than any other hardscape on a property, and it is the first thing anyone sees.

These are solid stone treads rather than a veneer over block, set on a compacted base so they do not shift or settle unevenly through freeze and thaw.

Landing and apron

The landing is large format flagstone, laid tight so there is nothing to catch a heel. The cobble apron at the bottom transitions the steps into the walk and gives the whole entrance a defined edge.

Matching the house

Stone selection here follows the existing stonework on the facade. Matching what is already on the building is usually a better result than introducing a new material at the front door.
